Glad Grads This month, the first group of 15 BSBA graduates completed the dual degree program between CETYS (Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior) and CityU—with smiling faces to prove it. During their coursework, these students came to the United States one summer and then spent time in Slovakia and Greece during the second summer semester. They are pictured here at CETYS’ Mexicali Campus in Baja California, Mexico.
City University of Seattle School of Management City University of Seattle School of Management Program Directors Tom Cary and Susan Mundy have been accepted to present their paper at the 2008 e-CASE conference in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference, which runs March 27-29, will host leading professors from universities across the globe. Their paper titled, Making Education Partnerships Better and More Affordable Through e-Education: An Examination of the Hybrid Delivery of Business Programs to Partner Institutions in Asia, looks at the challenges colleges and universities face when offering programs internationally. In their paper, Cary and Mundy compare the traditional American method of offering degrees to overseas partner institutions with two alternative methods, both involving e-Education. They claim that the formats developed by CityU of Seattle using e-Education significantly lower costs while maintaining or enhancing the learning experience for the student. Cary was selected to present at the conference along with senior faculty from 40 other countries spanning five continents. At the conference, he will have an opportunity to present and observe the latest research results and ideas in the areas of e-Commerce, e-Administration, e-Society, and e-Education. The conference brings together researchers, academics, industry specialists, practitioners, and graduate students to discuss technological and non-technological issues related to these rapidly evolving and growing areas. |
