Tamara G. Kelley, City University of Seattle alumna, accepted a special education teaching position at Emerson Elementary School in Seattle. Kelley graduated in 2007 with her B.A. in Education/Special Education and also received a CityU diversity scholarship. Prior to earning her degree, Kelley worked as a educator-paraprofessional in elementary, middle, and high schools for more than a decade.

Scott Weide, class of 2004, received a $10,000 teaching grant from the Qwest Foundation and the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). He and 18 other public school teachers were recognized for creating 21st century learning environments to engage students.
